Laura Wasilowski

Laura Wasilowski is a textile artist and creator of hand-dyed fabrics and threads. Her pictorial art quilts and free-form embroideries are collected and exhibited internationally. Wasilowski’s art work is inspired by stories of family, friends, and home. The whimsical wall pieces, created from fused fabrics, are hand-embroidered or machine quilted. Her free-form embroideries depict everyday objects, landscapes, and personal narratives. She has an undergraduate degree in Costuming from the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, MN and a Master of Art degree in Fiber from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL. Owner of the dye shop, Artfabrik, Laura is also a lecturer, instructor, and author of Fusing Fun, Fuse-and-Tell Journal Quilts, Fanciful Stitches, Colorful Quilts, and Joyful Stitching: Transform Fabric with Improvisational Embroidery. She lives in Elgin, Illinois, with her adoring husband and loves visits from her active grandchildren. Visit Artfabrik online: www.artfabrik.com
